"Why did we have to move, Dad?" All my friends are having fun in California and I'm stuck here in Toronto with no friends at all. you said I should have fun in the summer. This place..." His father stops him. "This place is filled with excitement and adventure. This is a wonderful city to live in. When yu get back into school, you'll meet a lot of friends. In the meantime, let's go have some fun; watching the city baseball team play; hit down some bowling pins; it will be great, just like the good times back in San Francisco." "But it's different. The Toronto Blue Jays are not that good. Look at the A's and the Giants. The A's were division leaders 4 or 5 times in a row. The Giants went to the World Series a couple of years ago. And bowling, the have cosmic bowling in the Bay Area, and here? I bet bowling here is just plain bowling, with the lights turned on with no music. They might even have wooden bowling balls. Well, the point is that home is different now. We don't have an upstairs anymore, no more room for my pet dog, Fluffy, to run around, no more video games becase you threw them away. Back home, we used to have a pool, a trampoline, a garage!" "Ummmm, son?" "A backyard, a front yard, a basketball court!" "Ben?!" Ben, the boy that is mad, does not notice the mice that are coming out from the hole. Dad tells Ben to be quiet. " Shhh Ben, don't scare the mice away. If we catch them, we won't have any more problems. I guarantee it." "Oh great. This summer is getting worse. We have mice in the house. What next? Lizards? "Shh," Now Dad is getting mad. "Don't you say a word. Now give me that bucket over there." After Ben had given the bucket to Dad, he jumps onto the counter to watch the action. "It's going to get ugly." Ben whispers to himself. Ben closes his eyes. When you opens them, Dad has bloodmarks all over his face. He caught the mice, but it was a bloody fight. Dad had used forks and knifes to cut them up. "here's the bucket, that oughta teach them a lesson. Ben continues," As I was saying, we have no basement, no attic, no.." "Ummm, Ben?" you can't interrupt me now, Dad." "It is your turn to do the killing." Ben looks on the ground. Lizards, everywhere! "Awww, Dad. I'm going to die! they are so big! "Don't worry. Lizards don't bite, they scratch." "My misery is just beginning. "
If i were the boss
i would go travel
all around the world
with some friends
If i were the boss
there would be "C" (Chessy) rated movies,
a sport called Shq and Kobe,
video cameras in a basketball.
If i were the boss everybody would listen to iPODS,
be as smart as calculators,
play a game called Poly Want A Cracker.
If i were the boss
there would be four-day weekends,
bumblebees on bobbleheads,
a person can be homeless
and still be the boss.
I have lost your toys
in the park
where they drowned
until they went to the bottom,
I know you're angry
at me
but i had
no choice,
Forgive me, but you
killed my rat
putting him
throug the shredder.
I am a boy with no eyes,
I want to see,
I need to look into the outside world,
I hear these wonderful stories about nature,
I wish i could see,
I am a boy with no eyes.
I pretend to be seen,
I don't know where i am,
I worry someone's going to hurt me,
I try to be confident,
I am a boy with no eyes.
I dream of being a doctor,
I cry when i have the chance,
i wonder what it is like to be out there,
I am not wearing any pants,
I am a boy with no eyes.
There are dust and moss
on my pots and pans
Everywhere they want to be
they are worthless
like an ant in the sky
They have fought a long day,
hanging around in the cupboard
waiting to be fired upon on their big bottoms.
They sit on top of stoves
like children in hell.
All the trees, flowers, roses,
have toched your heart,
Even the Three Stooges,
no one will tear us apart,
you will know what is true,
For ou are my majesty,
even though you are a jew,
people like you are quite a few.
Where do you like to go?
Movies, parks, anywhere?
Let's go to Reno,
I love ou, I swear,
you are my love,
you are nothing but a dove.
I sing of blue blossoms and tan trees
of the hard winds and light breeze
i dream f butterflies in the air
which brings me up to anywhere
i write poems that are about red roses
i see them doing their poses
i sing of green grass, little leaves, and cute cold moles,
being the only thing that is botherng me are fleas
i dream of puppets dancing in the rain
i can never think wih my smart brain
i will never forget about the nature
for i will always be ready for the next adventure.
When i had my first basketball game,
I remember,
My teammates playing with me
on the court,
my mom and dad cheering for me
in the stands,
my brother watches me from the sideline like he is a cheerleader,
I remember
the moment i held the ball
in my hands
i felt a feeling in my hands
that i wanted to shoot the ball
When i shot the ball,
the ball came out of my hands
and into the basket,
I remember
my teammates congratulating me
when i made the shot
it felt good
to be a star,
I remember
after the game,
everybody congratulated me
on how i played so well,
Ever since that
i thought to become
a basketball player
when i grow up.
Sadness in the night
Fireflies engulfing it up
The sun is burning in water
My mother tells me
that i should be sad
about the ways of life,
She told me about the whiteness of a tree
which reminded me that they were me,
I haven't got enough time to joke around
because all there is to it
is nothing but counterfeit
my mother is in prison
my father is out at sea
that's where he wants to be
my sister is in a cell
i am in hell
i'm worthless like an ant
but powerful like a king
i cab ne anywhere i want to be
nobody can stop me
i have been through the times,
i am sad where i am
when i'm happy,
i want to be somewhere else
but i am just a worthless piece of art
which makes me hink of
i am your fart
from this day on,
i will be sad
sad enough
to be mad!
They cheer me on the court every game, why would I be afraid? I'm not afraid, at least I don't think I am. The buzzer alarms. We get on the court and practice. The buzzer alarms again.
It all began when someone left the window open. Mr. waterswanted some air in the night, and so he opened the window. He was sleeping on th couch when suddenly a big loud sound woke him up. He looked out the window. there was a enormous cloud of smoke in the air. Mr. Waters wondered what happened. So he walked downstairs to look. When he's halfway downstairs, he hears a noise upstairs. He just remembered. He forogot to close the window when he went down. He qickly ran back up the stairs and into his room. Unfortunately, he had been too late. His room was filled with fragments of his furniture on the floor. He looked up. He was the most scarest person he had ever seen. A vampire! The bloodsucking human being is twice the size of Mr. Waters. Hehas two fangs that you can see at the top of his teeth. It looks like the vampireis going to suck his blood. The vampire starts snarling. Mr. Watersd runs quickly to the door and out. But he was too slow. The vampire flew over to Mr. Waters and bit him on the neck, also getting the blood. Mr Waters is going to be one of them now. "That's how it all started." said one of Mr. Water's neighors.
I walked onto the Piedmont court, where it all started. I wasn't ready for the action of basketball, but ready for sleeping. I was the first one to get there out of my whole team. I read the court like a cat reading a catching a mouse. The lines around the court are filled with licorice. The foul line is made of a yellow-greenish color. just for players to see it. I just realized that there are five gyms in Piedmont. All five gyms have one full court for playing basketball. The basketball hoop of the full courts is as bright as the sun. It is as new is a born baby. Its backboard is as flat as a wooden floor. I pretend the audience is there, cheering our team onto the finals. My coaches stand there in awe. The other team is just lying there, waiting for the misery to end. POOF!!! My teammates come in seeing me on the bench, bored and afraid.
I am from the dry grass from my backyard,
from TVs to computers,
from Hong Kong to California.
I am from a friendly neighborhood,
always saying thank you and good-bye,
I once thought ey wre family.
I am from mashed potatoes with gravy to pizza. from carpet floors to wooden floors, Which don't make a difference)
from the apple trees to the peach trees,
which, in my heart,
consists of love and passion.
I am from the furniture of my granmother's huse
to the dusty chairs and tables inside my house.
I am from the five verses my parents USED to say to me and a petal of a rose.
I am from the old wrinkled pictures in my cabinet
to the creatures under my bed,
trying to catch me and put me aside without my parents
(i thought there were creatures)
I am from those moments --
an old family tree, that consists of my memories,
to the new family tree, which made by my future kids' memories.
