The Whispering Forest(Chapter 1)There was once a little cottage in a forest. The forest was called Whispering Forest. People said that they could always hear ghosts whispering. It was true for the Watson family who lived in Whispering Forest. The father, john Watson (who already passed away), the mother, Mary Watson, the older sister, Belinda Watson, and the younger sister, Melody Watson. Oreo is a black dog who loves Melody. There was also a robin who Belinda owned. She named the robin Bel. He was very wise. Chapter 2 The Watsons' cottage was small and had nothing but furnitre. Whispering Forest is usually dark and creepy. Actually, it is quite beautiful. There was "Pearl Lake" where Belinda and Melody took water to drink. Pearl Lake was so clean that in the lake lived golden carp, white crabs, and sparkling oyster shells. There was "Starry Falls" where Belinda and Melody took a bath. The waterfall's water was warm and clean. Chapter 3 John Watson had had spiky black hair and oval spectacles. (Even though he is dead, Melody keeps hoping that he is still alive.) Mary Watson had long, black, curly hair. Her dark brown eyes flashed when she was mad. (She had caught a terrible disease last spring.) Belinda Watson had black hair that went to her knees. (She earns money for the family.) Melody Watson had short black hair that went to her shoulders. (Melody loves Oreo.) Chapter 4 One summer day in Whispering Forest, Melody went out to pick wildflowers. (They were blooming in the summer.) She had picked a big bouquet. She couldn't wait to show Belinda. But when she got home, Belinda was making her mother drink cough syrup. "What are you doing?" yelled Melody as she hit the spoon of cough syrup away from her mother's mouth. "Melody, how could you?!" screamed Belinda. Oreo, the black dog, came running from the kitchen. (He used to be a rescue dog but then they abandoned him.) When the dog say what was happening, he proudly strutted over to the spilled cough syrup and lapped it up. Belinda and Melody couldn't help laughing. Then, they both got serious again. "Why were you feeding cough syrup to mother?" Melody asked Belinda madly. "Mother was coughing!" yelled Belinda. "Don't yell, my two daughters," said the mother. Her voice was dry and raspy. Then she coughed really loudly. There was silence. Melody and Belinda's mother was dead.
