A Homosapien's Soul

"Wake up! Wake up!"a faint voice said steadily growing louder.

"Ugh...It's too early. Wake me at 8;25."

"It's 8:45 now!" the voice said as Jice came to his senses.

"Wha!"hollered Jice "I was supposed to me Arelia at the bazaar 15 minutes ago!"he said as he threw off the covers. He quickly dressed and slid down the staircase railing from his room. Jice ran into the kitchen, grabbed an apple, and bolted out the door. "See yea later mom!" he shouted to his open bedroom window.

"Be back before dusk!" his mom replied.

Jice was 14 and approximately 5'3" tall. He had brown hair and brown eyes with an average body build. His dad had died; been murdered actually by a group of unknown people. He currently lived with his mom in a small house with a few neighbors and his best friend Arelia 1 house away. He ran down the hill and through the village to the bazaar which was the center of the city. He was meeting Arelia at the north entrance but she was not there. "Darn! he thought. "She probably already left and will be mad at me. I should go appologi..." but he was cut off.

"Hey." a voice said from behind him. Jice wheeled around to find Arelia standing there with 2 hot chocolates. Arelia was Jice's best friend and had been since they were little. they lived a house away from each other and went to school together. She had chestnut colored hair and hazel eyes. She was almost an inch taller than him but about 2 months younger. "Here." she said as she handed him one.

"Sorry for being late..." he said.

"No problem." she said. "The timing worked out perfectly anyway."continued Arelia as they walked into the bazaar.

They walked around for a while and were meeting some other friends later. They were planning to stay all day because they normally only get to walk around to the shops in their village. There are 3 villages built around the bazaar. The North village; people of average wealth (where Jice and Arelia lived), the Southwest village, where rich people lived, and East village which was a group of slums. All of this was the city including the bazaar known as Harem, named after its founder Harem Jahai.

Over the last few weeks, there had been an increase in the Blue guard presence in the city. The Blue Guard are dispatched by King Ioda to watch over and protect an area. They are a step above the standard police and wear a blue uniform, shoulder and chest pads, a helmet and carry a special heat rifle which magnifys light to a degree where it can burn holes in things. There recently had been a few problems in the area which consist of a number of kidnapings , mainly children but a few adults, and a few murders. This is because the children's souls have more power and energy that they can use. In this world, a persons soul is like another person who can talk move and other things. They aren't like ghosts because they can effect matter but they can become impermeable so they can move through walls or maybe punches, they can fly, telepathicly communicate with the person, and launch energy blasts. The only thing that makes them different from regular people (beside the powers) is how they lookand that they can go in and out of the owners body when they or the owner chooses. That is what makes them their soul. As for how they look... They are a light glowing blue in color buut about 2 feet shorter people with no hair. Jice and Arelia are both eople of course and both have souls. their names are Lasia and Arsaewhom are also best friends.

As they were walking down the street, they saw the friends that they were meeting later. "Hey!" Arelia shouted as they ran over. "What are u guys doing here...We're not meeting until 11:30. Right?" she questioned. "Ya but we came early on our own." they said. "Hows your summer so far?" Jice asked. "Good replied Sai. "Your's?" he continued. "Same." he said. Arelia talked to Trisa for a while. "Should we meet back here in an hour and a half?" asked Trisa. "Sure." Arelia replied. "See ya!" Jice said as they walked away. Trisa and Sai stood talking in front of an alley where they had left them. About 30 seconds later Jice and Arelia heard a scream and dashed to its origin to see their friends hands dissappear on the ground into the alley. The strange part was tha there was no one running over or anyone even around for that matter, not even a Blue guard.
