Tod's Journey to L.A.

There once was a boy named Tod. Tod was a skinny, black haired boy who was tall for his age. Age, that's all Tod's dad talked about. He talked about how he had a job in the mines at Tod's age. There was always the same story with Tod's father, always complaining how lazy Tod was, how Tod should get a job and that Tod was old enough to have some responsibilities.

But after Tod's father died he was free to do whatever he wanted, but that day it hit him that he need to get a job and take care of him self. He was only 15 when his dad died.

Tod decided to become a coal miner because it was in the family, but he also wanted to become a actor. He knew that the after hours were extremely dangerous and he knew even during the regular work hours it was dangerous. But if he wanted to become an actor he need to get a good income. The only thing standing between Tod and Hollywood was money he didn't have enough money to buy an air plain ticket or even get an apartment.

A few months later he decided that he needed to get a better paying job, but until then he would work at the coal mine extra hours. He knew it was unhealthy and dangerous. He knew this because his brother died in extra hours. The extra hours were dangerous because there weren't many people around to help you if you got hurt or if you needed to help someone else. Plus the elevator only goes up twice but then doesn't go up until morning when you are suppose to go down. So for Tod it is like he is working 24, 7.

Well Tod found that job that he had been looking for, so he could get in to acting. He decided that he would start working at a Travel agency because you can get free plain tickets. After Tod's first day he decided that this wasn't the right job. He decided to got back to school.

Even though school was hard for him, it would look good on his job applications. He decided to major in law because he had heard that lawyers make a lot of money kind of fast. But he made a promise to himself that he would never give up acting and that he would be a lawyer until he made a certain amount of money.

While Tod was in college learning law, he hardly had time to practice acting. This wasn't good because if he wanted to become an actor he would have to practice. But it seemed like after he would be too tired to do anything. Plus he was tired all the time because he was up late doing homework so he would only get six or seven hours of sleep, which isn't a lot. He would never go to parties unless he had done his homework and practiced his acting. People thought he was weird because he didn't interact with other people. They also thought a lawyer who wanted to become an actor was weird too. Everybody that knew him before college knew that he was from a family that worked in coalmines, even the teachers. The teachers would tease him and tell him to go back to the coalmines where he belongs but Tod just ignored them. Eight long years Tod had to live with people making fun of him.

But when Tod got out of college he went to different law offices to see if they needed a lawyer. In one of the law offices he saw that they had a vacancy. He also noticed a very beautiful woman. When he was interviewed, the man who was interviewing him seemed to be interested in his past. The man looked extremely impressed when he heard Tod started to live by himself at age 15. He was also impressed that Tod could go to school and coal mine all in the same day. He told Tod to give him his phone number and if he got the job he would call him in the morning.

The next morning at 8:00 a.m. when Tod was cooking breakfast he heard the phone ring. When he picked it up he heard a woman's voice on the phone. She told him that he got the job and he should be at work at 10:30 a.m.

When Tod got to the office they had a party for him. After the party the boss went over what Tod needed to do every day.

Soon Tod was getting cases left and right. He only took the ones that paid a lot. He had won every case that he had taken. Sometimes he would take a case that didn't pay a lot but the other lawyer was well known. In five years had gained three million dollars and in his biggest case yet the person he was defending had offered him fifty grand to take him and one million after he won the case. Tod did.

Tod was living large and at this point had forgotten all about acting. Everything was going for good for Tod and so he saw a movie with that beautiful woman. He saw the movie 'cause he remembered that he wanted to. After the movie he remembered that he was going to audition for it. He was so mad that Ben Stiller had gotten the part. But he wasn't that mad because law was his pride now. And he decided to stick with it.
