Revolutionary Device

I'm working on a device for teachers It attaches to your belt It has one big red button You press it whenever you need it It stops time

You grade papers You organize your files and/or create a filing system You look around your room You take down the things you haven't even pointed to yet You take down the student work from four years back

You sit You scratch your chin You reflect You brainstorm You write down new plans You make changes You map out a day a week a year

You go and talk to those colleagues you've been trying to see for months to collaborate with but all your great speeches and inquiries had only dissolved into good mornings! and how's it goings? You share talents with them You discover all sorts of overlaps You hear great ideas You change the way you do some things

You do a little internet research You go find all the books that fit just right for this unit You maybe even write a few of your own You arrange the room in a way that makes more sense You visit a few museums Study Art Paint a few murals

You write a few songs to help teach a concept You write a few grants to change the lives of students You go to the bathroom

You take a trip to the Bahamas

Now it's time to reach down again, push the red button, "Good morning, Children!" you say with a smile, meaning every tooth of it.
