Hedgehogs on the Loose

hedgie

Hey kids,

What's spiny, cute and totally harmless? A hedgehog.

A hedgehog is an animal with a spiny back. There are 16 species of hedgehogs. Hedgehogs are found in parts of Asia, Africa, Europe, and New Zealand. But they are not native to the Americas or Australia (sad
but true.)

But, wait, there's more! Hedgehogs have changed over the last 15 million years. The name "hedgehog" came into use around the year 1450.
