The Land is a book about a boy named Paul who has a black mother and
white father. He is different than everyone and everyone makes sure he
remembers it. He gets beat up when he's a kid until he makes a deal with
his bully. He teaches the bully, Mitchell how to read and write and
Mitchell teaches him to fight. He stands up to the other boys with
Mitchell's help.
When Paul and Mitchell grow up they go to Mississippi together, they
become like brothers and always have each other's backs. Mitchell and Paul like the same girl but you'll find out what happens.
If you want more of this story then after reading The Land, read The Well. It is the story in another book going on. Enjoy!

My favorite book is Dragons Slayers' Academy:Class Trip to the Cave of
Doom. I like it because it's funny when they do silly things like their
coach gets scared out of his wits when he finds some frogs in his tent. Another silly part is when some of the kids in the group "Bloodhounds"
have to carry their coach after he becomes a looney. The coach had
called himself Queen Mary. It's also funny when the bloodhounds had
to tickle their headmaster to get his hands off of some gold being
sucked down from something.
I'm not sure about you, but I really enjoyed it. If you can't find the book, go to a nearby library in your neighborhood or a town.

Dear Book Lovers (and children bored from watching T.V.),
I
have some great news!! During the month of September I read one of
the best books of all time. The name of this masterpiece is Our Only
May Amelia. Our Only May Amelia is a touching story about a young girl
in a settlement who is the only girl in Nasel,Washington. She
has to deal with 7 brothers, her grumpy Pa, and chores.
It is sweet and
sad, and VERY heart warming. I would really recommend this story for
all ages. It's a great story to sit down and read, or it could be read
to you by an adult. Personally I wouldn't read this story at night
because of one scary part, ( you'll have read the story to find out
what it is though). So go to the library and pick it out, borrow it
from a friend, or go to book store a buy it. I promise you, if you like
historical fiction books, or are just looking for a new book to read
you WILL enjoy it.
Sincerely, Simone Grade 5

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl, is a great book. I like this book because it is funny. It was funny when the large boy
fell in the chocolate lake. Also it was funny when that girl turned
into a very fat blueberry. I like the part when you can take the Wonka
bar out of the T.V. There were lot of people that were getting Wonka bars
for the golden ticket.I like the part when the people went on the boat
ride. Well that is all I have to say! Go read this book!

Boys and girls of Sequoia. I want to tell you about Akiko and the Great
Wall Of Trudd. It is about these travelers trying to save the prince
and they end up at a great wall. So they climbed the great wall of Trudd and saw a restaurant that was empty but a person that serves food.
He gave free food and jackets because he never saw customers in a long
time. So he served him monkey brains, nasty bagels, raw fish and
something like that.
When they were finished with their meal, they went to a cold place icy,
snowy too. They kept traveling to Alia Rellaptor castle. Then they were
there finally. When they were at Alia Relleptor. they were on a new journey.
This is a great book. You will absolutely love it!
