Arathina

Arathina

Once upon a time there was a girl named Arathina. She was 20 years old. She lived in East India. She loved to go to Indian ceremonies. She also liked to sew with her friends for fun.

One day everybody in her village was invited to a ceremony, in honor of Mahatma Gandhi. Arathina really wanted to go to the ceremony. Arathina couldn’t wait till her parents got home so she could ask them if she could go to the ceremony.

When her parents got home, she asked if she could go. They wanted to think about it. After they said that, Arathina was so nervous.

She cooked a surprise dinner to pucker them up. She cooked baked fish, rice, corn and a family recipe for chi. Those were some of their favorite dishes. Arathina put everything on a big trey and went to their room. She hoped that making dinner would pucker them up.

"Surprise" yelled Arathina.

"Wow" said her mother and her father.

"You did this so you could go to that ceremony, right." Said her mother

"Yes" said Arathina

"Well it worked" said her mom.
