Dear BAWP Teacher Consultants,
A warm wish to all of you from the BAWP office for restful and rewarding holidays.
Please look for a special BAWP mailing early in January which will include an annual update of BAWP work and a request for nominations for the Invitational Summer Institute for 2003.
I also want to draw your attention to the National Council of Teachers of English and its 2003 Convention. This coming year it will be held in San Francisco, providing a perfect opportunity for you to attend and participate. I encourage you to consider doing a session at the convention by submitting a program proposal. The theme this year is "Partners in Learning," perfect for the work so many of you do. If you're interested, go to the call for proposals section of the convention announcements site. They must be postmarked by January 8 or sent electronically by January 13.
What makes this year's event really special is that 2003 marks BAWP's 30th anniversary, and the NWP plans a special BAWP/NWP celebration at the NWP Annual Meeting which will be held in conjunction with the NCTE Convention. Lots to look forward to.
Regards,
Carol Tateishi
