My friend has 9 dogs and each one has 5 puppies. How many puppies all together? 9x5=?
The answer is 45 because I just used my fingers to put it together. First I put up 9 fingers and counted to 5. I put my 5th finger down. When I take that one finger away and there you go you have your answer. There are 4 fingers left, so the answer is 45. 9x5=45. The answer is 45 because 9 times 5 is 45.
