NWL News

Hello students this is our 2nd paper! So far we have 4 members! There is: Chelsea, Vickie, Carmen, and Gelila. And volunteers Tami and Cynthia. Did you read the first paper? You should of. It had lots of info on pollution if you liked it or not.

Quiz time! Are you a cheetah, chinchilla, snake or a snow leopard?

What do you do when you are with your friends?

1) Creep around in your sibling’s room

2) Play your music really loud

3) Pick out the cutest outfit at the mall

4) Get on someone’s nerves for no reason

What type of book do you read?

1) Mystery

2) Comedy

3) Romance

4) Action

What’s one word to describe you?

1) Mysterious

2) Feisty

3) Kind

4) Mean

Results: If you got mostly…

1: snake

2: cheetah

3: chinchilla

4: snow leopard

If you are a snake you are very mysterious and like to be alone.

If you are a cheetah you are very feisty and fun to hang out with.

If chinchilla you are sweet and kind, sometimes you are very quiet.

If you are a snow leopard you get in arguments and still forgive people no matter what.

Did you enjoy the quiz? What did you get? It was fun right? Do the next test later on.

A Chinese river dolphin, known as baiji, is an endangered animal from the polluted Yangtze River from eastern china. A Chinese river dolphin is different than any other dolphin. They only live in fresh water rivers. Like Yangtze is a fresh water river that is getting extremely polluted.

We are so sorry that this paper came out so late. Our crew has been very busy lately and we didn’t have much time to do it. But so far we have made 2 papers.

I have heard that our paper has threatening things in it, but we are sorry to scare you and make you freak out. It’s obvious that this paper is better, right? If you have any suggestions, contact one of the crew people. Thank you for reading this short but good paper. (One more important thing, we need more volunteers!)

Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Check out this web site to learn about the stars, planets and more! You'll want to see the videos they have that tell you what's going on each month in the sky. This month, of course, there was the total eclipse of the Moon, but also Saturn is very close. Hop to it! Go check it out!

The Well

This book is the next step of The Land. If you have read The Land then you need to read this book. It is about two boys and these white boys who are racist and dump a dead skunk down the only water the state has. Which is the Logans well. The Logans are black. I don't want to tell you everything. You have to figure it out by reading this amazing book. Read The Land first. Then the well. Next up Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry. Don't forget about Let The Circle Be Unbroken

This story is full of everything. It tells you about how it was in the early nineteen hundreds. The story shows how much the world has changed. Would you want to live in a world with non-stop killing because of your skin color? It wouldn't be like it is now. Take Sequoia as an example.

Love, Stargirl

Love, Stargirl with Signed Bookplate Cover

Do you like to read books and letters? If you do then Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is one of the best books you'll ever read!! You may have heard of Stargirl which is the book before this one. Stargirl, the main character in the story, is a homeschooled highschooler who is sad and confused. She is like this because she got dumped by her boyfriend. Now I know this sounds simple but there is more to it then you think. She got dumped before she moved to Pennsylvania, but she still loves him and still doesn't understand why he stopped loving her.

Love, Stargirl is an amazing story about how a teenager deals with the obstacles of life. And one thing that makes this book even cooler is the format the story is in. It's written in letters!! So if you want to read a soul-satisfying story, start reading this book NOW!!

Kooks in the Cafeteria Book Review

If you like comics you should read the Comic Guy series of comics! It's a short book, but its very funny. Guy's math class was so boring, he fell asleep! Sad, isn't it? His best friend Molly makes the same excuse as Guy. They end up in the cafeteria where the mean Mrs. Wolf works. She's in her office for most of the time. While Guy isn't in is dreadful punishment, he's on the newspaper. (With evil Zoe) He needs to find a story, a really good one! It took awhile but he found out!

I really like this book because it's very humorous. I just got it yesterday and read it really quickly. Comic lovers would die to read this book! You can get this book from any book store. There's also a little reading involved!

Hannah Montana Hold On Tight Book Review

Do you really want to read a good book? Well you've come to the right place! This is a book about this girl Miley and her two friends, Lilly and Oliver. Miley has a secret that she is really Hannah Montana. So in this book Miley has a class play and Lilly and Miley have to choose partners so Lilly chooses a guy (I forget his name) but now Miley has to choose Oliver. So after school Miley and Oliver go to Miley's house and start to rehearse what they're going to do for the play. There is just too much to tell you about!
Now is this book only for girls? Nooooo it's not. Anyone can read it! If I were to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest I would say probably an 8 or 9. I really like it!!! It is awesome! If you're out there reading this book review and you think its a good book and you don't know where to get it then go to google and look up "Hannah Montana Hold On Tight." So look it up now!
     Thanks for reading this review!

Jigsaw Jones The Case of Hermie the Missing Hamster

Want a book all about mystery? Then Jigsaw Jones The Case of Hermie the Missing Hamster is the right book to read for fun or even in class. Once you read one of the chapters of this book you will get into it so fast. Even if you are in class reading this book and your teacher tells you to put away your book, you will just keep reading.
This is about this boy who is good at solving every single mystery his classmate tells him about. His name is Jigsaw and he has a partner name Mila and they are just in 2nd grade. One day, there was this boy who needed help to find Hermie, his hamster, back. So he asked Jigsaw for help. Did Jigsaw get Hermie back?
I give this book a two thumbs up because it gives a little hint each chapter you read. Everybody will start liking this book because the author describes each scene with descriptive sentences.
